We are a small team building AI systems that large industrial companies actually run. We need somebody who can take that into the market.
Not a person who reads out a feature list. Somebody who can sit with a plant head or a founder, work out what is actually costing them, and know which of the things we build would fix it — or say plainly that none of them would.
What we build
Varahi is an engineering company in Pune. We build AI that runs on hardware the customer owns, inside their own building, and keeps working when the internet does not. There are three product lines, and this is all of them:
For the companies that design, build and service machines. VEDA reads a machine's own signals and helps a technician find a fault. Nirdesh replaces the 400-page manual with something you can ask out loud, hands dirty. VCAD turns a description of a part into geometry you can manufacture.
One air-gapped AI core a small or mid-sized company runs everything on: Workspace for mail and files, Happen for CRM and outreach, VarahiConverse for projects and people. One box, one record, no vendor holding a slice of it.
Sold as engineering, not advice. We make an enterprise AI-capable on its own hardware, then hand it over and leave — architecture, evaluation set, pilot, runbooks.
One idea sits under all three. A company already knows how its machines fail and how its work gets done. That knowledge lives in people's heads and it leaves when they do. Our job is to write it down as a by-product of the work, so it stays in the building.
What the job actually is
- Find the constraint. Every useful conversation we have starts from something going wrong in a real building, not from a brief. Your first job in the room is to find that thing and get it said out loud.
- Hold the technical conversation. We promise every customer that the first conversation is with an engineer, not a salesperson. You have to keep that promise as we grow — which means knowing our own architectures well enough to say what we will not do, and why.
- Own the commercial case. Scope, price, who signs, and who in that building would say no. End to end.
- Build the market, not just the pipeline. Most buyers are not yet shopping for AI they own and run themselves. Part of this job is making them aware the choice exists.
The idea we are hiring for
We do not rank customers by the size of the office. A forty-person business with a clear idea of what it wants to build is a better customer than a large group with none, and it will move faster.
The world is sorting itself into companies that own their systems and companies that rent them. The ones that will matter in ten years are acting on that now, at every size. We want somebody who can spot them early and back them.
No customer is large or small by the office they own. They are large or small by the idea they carry, and their willingness to build it.
Who this suits
- You have sold something technical to industry, and you liked the part where you had to understand it.
- You are comfortable on a shop floor and in a boardroom in the same week.
- You would rather close a smaller deal you believe in than a larger one you would have to oversell.
- You want a small team, where what you hear in the market changes what we build.
Not for you if
You want a finished catalogue, a fixed script and a list of big logos to work through. We do not have those. The honest version is that you would be building the commercial side of this company with us, not joining a machine that already runs.
How to apply
Send a CV and a short note on one deal you lost, and what you would do differently. That tells us more than a list of what you closed.
